Two lessons in one day!!


Oh My God!!


It was another Sunday morning that I had a class,but it was the last Sunday studying too! 
I was very glad. I felt like I was Jaxon in this pic!

What are they? Did you know?

Definition(n) is astatement that ​explains the ​meaning of a word or phrase.


**Verb of Definition is Define.



                          Teacher Usa instructed us definition consists of 3 parts viz technical term, discourse marker and definition. Let's see what are they!



Phonetics is the study of the speech sounds used in human languages.




Phonetics -Techical term
is - Discourse marker. In this case,it is definition marker.

And what is classification?

Classification is a group that something is divided to.

For example,
chocolate is my favorite sweet!


**Verb of Classificaion tion is classificate.


                    Later, we talked about Definition and Classification markers,but they are some common Definition and Classification markers. We have to find more because we might see difficult discourse markers in final exam. I think that.


You have to memorize them!



               Then, teacher taught us about strategies that will help us categorize and understand texts that contain technical terms,definition and classification

                                                                             
- Expect writers to use technical terms and to define them in the text.

- Expect writers to use common words and give them technical meanings.

- Look for Definition Markers. They will help you identify both technical terms and their meanings.

- Look for Classification Markers. They will help you identify both the general concepts and its types.



            
                Next, we did skill practice1 by circle the  Definition Markers, highlight the technical terms, and underline the definitions. Here is my skill practice 1.



                      Then, we did exercise in skill practice 2. Teacher Usa asked us to write them on the whiteboard,too.

What did you find difficult?

 Finding Definition Markers. They made me confused so much!



How did you solve the problem?

I solved it by consulted with my friend,did exercise together and turned to Classification Markers' page to find them.



What are your attitudes towards the lesson?

I like this lesson because we can find lots of definitions and classification in text book. If you understand and can use them,your reading will be better more and more.
